CPET Odisha 2026: PG Entrance Exam, Result and Counselling

Who conducts CPET

CareerIndia and Careers360 reported on 2 July 2026 that CPET was conducted under the Higher Education Department, and that the result was published on pg.samsodisha.gov.in. Collegedunia (27 March 2026) reported that the State Selection Board (SSB), Odisha handled data and hall tickets.

Many websites say CPET is run by OSHEC (Odisha State Higher Education Council). We could not confirm that for 2026, so we do not state it as fact. If the name of the conducting body matters to you, check the information bulletin on the official PG portal.

CPET 2026 dates: what was reported

Conflict: Careers360 gave the exam window as 27 April to 10 May 2026 instead of 5 to 18 May. We could not confirm either on an official page. Collegedunia's dates come from a "revised schedule", which may explain the difference. For any future year, the hall ticket is the only reliable record of your own exam date and centre.

Before the exam: practical steps

1. Read the official information bulletin on the PG portal for your subject's eligibility and syllabus. Do not rely on copies shared on messaging apps.
2. Apply before the last date. In 2026 the deadline was extended once, to 22 March, as reported.
3. Download your hall ticket from the official portal when it opens (30 April in 2026, as reported) and check your name, subject, date and centre.
4. Check the provisional answer key after the exam and raise objections only within the window, paying the fee shown on the portal (reported as Rs 200 per question in 2026).
5. Save your login details safely. You need them again for the result and counselling. Our SAMS login guide explains common login problems.

Menu names on the portal change, so look for similar words such as "Hall Ticket" or "Admit Card" if you do not see the exact label.

CPET result 2026 and how to check it

As reported by Careers360 and CareerIndia, the CPET 2026 result and merit list were published on 2 July 2026 on pg.samsodisha.gov.in.

1. Type pg.samsodisha.gov.in into your browser yourself.
2. Look for a link such as CPET Result or Merit List.
3. Enter the details the page asks for. These are usually from your application or hall ticket.
4. Download and save your scorecard or rank.

Results are free on the official portal. Any site that asks for payment just to show your result is not official.

After the result: SAMS PG counselling

Your CPET rank is used in the SAMS PG counselling. Careers360 reported this 2026 schedule on 28 July 2026: choice locking 27 July (3 pm) to 2 August; Round 1 allotment 7 August (4 pm); Round 2 on 17 August; waitlist 25 August; waitlist merit list 31 August; final admission 1 to 2 September 2026.

The official PG FAQ lists the PG CAF fee as Rs 500 per subject (General) and Rs 300 per subject (SC/ST), Rs 200 per additional subject, up to 5 subjects and a maximum of 10 options. Full details, including Freeze, Float and Slide, are on our SAMS PG admission guide and merit list guide.

From 2026-27, a DHE letter dated 07.07.2026 says Regular Mode PG courses under SAMS are free, while self-financing seats still charge fees.

CPET or B.Ed?

Graduates who want to teach often consider B.Ed as well. The Odisha B.Ed entrance is a separate exam, reported to be conducted by SSB Odisha. See our B.Ed admission guide for the 2026 dates as reported.

Avoid CPET scams

This guide is independent and is not connected to SAMS, the Higher Education Department or any government office. We never ask for your CAF number, roll number, login ID, password, OTP, Aadhaar or bank details, so please do not send them to us.

• Fill the CAF yourself on the official portal and pay only the official fee shown there, if any.
• Never share your OTP, Aadhaar or bank details with unknown callers, even if they say they are from SAMS or a college.
• Beware of fake websites, fake result or merit list links, and agents who promise a seat for money. Seats are given only through the official selection rounds.
• Open the portal by typing samsodisha.gov.in yourself instead of clicking forwarded links.

For the 2026 B.Ed hall ticket, CollegeDekho reported a link on ssbodisha.site, which differs from the official SSB domain ssbodisha.ac.in. Check domain names carefully for any SSB-handled exam, including CPET hall tickets.
