SAMS Odisha +2 Admission 2026: CAF, Eligibility and Dates
Passed Class 10 and moving to Class 11? Here is how the 2026 SAMS +2 admission worked: who can apply, the CAF fee, how many choices to fill, the reservation rules and every reported date.
Admission to Class 11, called +2 or Higher Secondary School (HSS) in Odisha, runs online through SAMS, the Student Academic Management System. You fill one Common Application Form (CAF), list your preferred schools and streams, and the system allots seats in rounds based on merit and your choices. There is no separate form for each school.
This page explains the 2026 cycle using the official +2 FAQ on the SAMS portal and dated news reports. Each fact says which one it comes from. It is an independent guide, not a government page. Who can apply for +2 (Class 11)
The official +2 FAQ says: "All candidates who have passed the High School Certificate (HSC) examination are eligible to apply". Students from CBSE, ICSE and other boards are also covered. For NIOS students, the FAQ says marks are capped at 500 in aggregate.

Streams offered in 2026, as reported by OdishaBytes (24 May 2026): Arts, Science, Commerce, Vocational and Sanskrit (Upashastri). The same report said 2,571 higher secondary schools offered about 5.99 lakh seats for 2026-27.
SAMS +2 admission dates 2026
The table below gives the 2026 schedule. None of these dates was seen on an official SAMS notice by us, so they are labelled as reported, with the outlet and date. Dates change every year, so for 2027 check the official notice when it comes out.

CAF fee and choices
The official +2 FAQ lists the CAF fee as Rs 200 per CAF for General applicants, Rs 100 for ST and SC applicants, and Rs 0 for PwD (more than 40% disability), Transgender and Orphan applicants. The fee is non-refundable. OdishaBytes reported the same Rs 200 and Rs 100 fee for 2026.
On choices, the FAQ says the applicant "has to choose minimum five(05) nos. of higher secondary school". One option means one school plus one stream. You list them in order of preference. No maximum is stated, so adding more realistic options gives you more chances.
Tips for choices:
- Put the school and stream you want most at the top. The system tries your options from top to bottom.
- Mix famous schools with nearer schools where your marks are likely enough.
- Look at last year's reported cut-offs on our cut-off marks guide before you lock the list.
How to fill the +2 CAF step by step
The steps below follow the official FAQ and news reports of the 2026 process. Menu names on government portals change, so look for similar words if your screen looks different.
- Type samsodisha.gov.in into your browser yourself and choose Higher Secondary School (+2).
- Look for the "New Student Login" or registration option. Careers360 (26 June 2026) reported that you register, verify with an OTP sent to your mobile, and set a password. Read our SAMS login guide if you get stuck.
- Fill the CAF with your Class 10 details exactly as on your marksheet.
- Add at least five school plus stream options in order of preference.
- Pay the CAF fee online (Rs 200, Rs 100 or Rs 0 as per your category).
- Print or save the CAF. You will need the print-out at reporting.
- After each selection round, check "Know Your CAF Status" for your intimation letter.

Reservation of seats in +2
The official FAQ says "11.25% of the sanctioned seats shall be reserved for applicants belonging to SEBC Category", and that weighted seats "shall not exceed 10% of the sanctioned strength."
Careers360 (updated 26 June 2026) published this 2026 seat reservation table:

This matches the Odisha Cabinet decision, reported by Careers360 on 5 April 2026, that raised ST reservation from 12% to 22.5% and SC from 8% to 16.25% and introduced 11.25% SEBC. We could not confirm any 2026 rules for girls, Green Card or sports quotas on an official page. Read the official prospectus or ask the school.
How 2026 first selection went
OdishaBytes reported on 8 July 2026 that 4,61,325 students applied, 4,29,219 were selected in the first round (93.04%), and 32,106 were not accommodated. The highest first-round cut-offs, as reported, were at Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School, Cuttack: Science 93.40%, Commerce 82.40% and Arts 81%.
In the second selection, OdishaBytes reported on 23 July 2026 that 46,570 students were selected out of 87,549 considered. So most applicants got a seat, but not always their first choice.
Stay safe during admission
This guide is independent and is not connected to SAMS, the Higher Education Department or any government office. We never ask for your CAF number, roll number, login ID, password, OTP, Aadhaar or bank details, so please do not send them to us.
- Fill the CAF yourself on the official portal and pay only the official fee shown there, if any.
- Never share your OTP, Aadhaar or bank details with unknown callers, even if they say they are from SAMS or a college.
- Beware of fake websites, fake result or merit list links, and agents who promise a seat for money. Seats are given only through the official selection rounds.
- Open the portal by typing samsodisha.gov.in yourself instead of clicking forwarded links.
The official FAQ says status is sent by SMS, email and WhatsApp, with no postal intimation. A letter by post asking for money is a warning sign.

When is the SAMS Odisha +2 admission date for 2026?
As reported by OdishaBytes on 24 May 2026, the 2026 CAF window ran from 26 May 2026 (11 am) to 30 June 2026 (11:45 pm). CollegeDekho reported there was no extension. The first selection list came on 8 July 2026. For the next cycle, wait for the official notice on samsodisha.gov.in, because dates change every year.

Will SAMS send my admission letter by post?
No. The official FAQ says there is no postal intimation. Your selection status is sent by SMS, email and WhatsApp, and you download the intimation letter from "Know Your CAF Status" on the portal. Treat any letter or call that asks you to pay money for a seat as a likely scam.
