SAMS Odisha Student Login: Steps, Password Reset and Problems

How students sign in to SAMS Odisha on the official portal, what each course asks for, how to recover a forgotten password, and how to avoid fake login pages. This guide never asks for your login.

Checked against official sources: 16 October 2026 · Independent guide

The SAMS Odisha student login is the account you create on the official portal to fill your Common Application Form (CAF), check your selection status and download your intimation letter. Every course (+2, +3, PG, ITI, Diploma, B.Ed) has its own login section, and they do not all ask for the same details.

This page is from sams-odisha.net, an independent guide, not a government site. There is no login on this website and we will never ask for your mobile number, password, OTP or CAF number. You sign in only on the official portal, samsodisha.gov.in. Below we explain what the official FAQs and dated news reports say about logging in, and what to do when it goes wrong.

Before you start: what you need

  • Your own mobile number. SAMS registration uses a one-time password (OTP) sent to the mobile. Use a number you will keep through the whole admission season, because the official Diploma FAQ says its login uses the registered mobile number.
  • Your marksheet details. Keep your Class 10 or Class 12 result handy. See BSE 10th result or CHSE 12th result if you still need it.
  • An email address, where the form asks for one. The ITEP FAQ lists name, mobile, email and date of birth for registration.
  • A safe place to note your password. Do not write it on the CAF print-out or share it in family WhatsApp groups.

How students sign in on the official portal

The exact screens differ by course and change from year to year. These are the usual steps:

  1. Type samsodisha.gov.in into your browser yourself. Do not open a login link from a forwarded message.
  2. On the home page, look for your course tile, for example Higher Secondary School (+2), Degree (+3), Post Graduation, ITI or Diploma (Polytechnic).
  3. First-time users look for a registration option. For +2, Careers360 reported (26 June 2026) that students use "New Student Registration", verify with an OTP and then set a password. The official +2 FAQ says the CAF is reached through the "New Student Login" module.
  4. Returning users look for "Student Login". For +3, Careers360 reported (1 October 2026) that the login asks for the academic year, mobile number, password and a captcha.
  5. After signing in, fill or view your CAF and check your status. On the +2 portal, the official FAQ says the intimation letter is downloaded through "Know Your CAF Status".
  6. Sign out when you finish, especially on a shared phone or a cyber cafe computer.

If the screen looks different from these steps, read the latest notice on the official portal or call the helpline rather than guessing.

What each course login asks for

CourseWhat the sources sayLabel
+2 (Higher Secondary)New Student Registration, OTP to mobile, set password; CAF via the New Student Login moduleAs reported; module name official
+3 (Degree)Student Login with year, mobile number, password and captchaAs reported
ITEP (4-year integrated B.Ed)OTP-based registration with name, mobile, email and date of birthOfficial FAQ
ITI"Forgot Password" link on the login pageOfficial FAQ
Diploma (Polytechnic)Registered mobile number and password; "Forgot Password" linkOfficial FAQ

We could not confirm the exact PG or B.Ed login fields from an official page. Follow the instructions shown on the PG portal or B.Ed portal itself. For course details, see our guides to +2 admission and +3 admission.

Forgot password: how to recover access

The official ITI and Diploma FAQs confirm a "Forgot Password" link on their login pages. We did not find official wording for password reset on the +2, +3 or PG logins, so here is the safe general approach:

  • On the login page, look for a link such as "Forgot Password". It will usually send an OTP to your registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP only on the official portal page that you opened yourself. Never read it out to a caller.
  • If you no longer have the registered mobile number, or no reset link appears, call the official SAMS helpline: 155335 or toll-free 1800-345-6770.
  • Your school or college admission cell can also guide you. They should never need your password to do so.

Common login problems and what to do

ProblemWhat to try
OTP not arrivingCheck signal and that you typed your own number. Wait a few minutes before asking again. If it still fails, call the helpline.
Captcha keeps failingReload the captcha and type it exactly, including capital letters.
Wrong year selectedOn logins that ask for the year (reported for +3), choose the current admission year.
Portal slow on merit list dayTry again later. Status also comes by SMS, email and WhatsApp, says the official +2 FAQ.
Cannot find your courseGo back to samsodisha.gov.in and choose the correct course tile.

Fake login pages and other scams

Login details are valuable to fraudsters. With your password and OTP, someone else could change your choices or lock options you did not want. Protect yourself:

  • Check the address bar. Official SAMS pages sit on samsodisha.gov.in and its course sub-addresses. A look-alike name ending in something else is not official.
  • Look-alike links do circulate. As reported by CollegeDekho on 27 May 2026, a B.Ed hall ticket link on the domain ssbodisha.site was different from the official SSB domain ssbodisha.ac.in. Always verify before you type anything.
  • No one needs your OTP. Never share OTP, password, Aadhaar or bank details with unknown callers, even if they say they are from SAMS, OCAC or a college.
  • Agents cannot buy seats. Seats come only through SAMS merit lists. As reported in 2023, admissions made directly by colleges outside the SAMS list were treated as null and void.
  • Fill the CAF yourself. Pay only the official fee shown on the portal, if any.

After you log in: next steps

Once you are in, your main tasks are filling choices, checking each selection round and acting on your allotment. Read how +2 merit lists work before selection day, and the SAMS Odisha guide home for every course and the 2026 dates.

Frequently asked questions

How do I log in to SAMS Odisha as a student?

Open samsodisha.gov.in yourself and choose your course tile, such as +2, +3, PG, ITI or Diploma. New users register with their mobile number and an OTP, then set a password. Returning users use Student Login. Menu names change, so follow the instructions shown on the official portal.

What details does SAMS +3 student login ask for?

According to Careers360 (updated 1 October 2026), the +3 Student Login asks for the academic year, your registered mobile number, your password and a captcha. If your screen asks for something different, follow the official portal, because login screens can change between admission cycles.

I forgot my SAMS password. What should I do?

Look for a Forgot Password link on the login page. The official ITI and Diploma FAQs confirm this link exists. It normally uses an OTP to your registered mobile. If no link appears or you lost that number, call the SAMS helpline 155335 or toll-free 1800-345-6770.

Can someone else log in to SAMS for me?

A parent or teacher can sit with you, but keep the password and OTP to yourself and enter them on your own device. Do not hand your login to agents or cyber cafe staff. Anyone with your login can change your choices or affect your seat.

Is there a SAMS login on sams-odisha.net?

No. sams-odisha.net is an independent guide and has no login, form or payment page. We never ask for your mobile number, password, OTP or CAF number. The only place to log in is the official portal at samsodisha.gov.in.

How do I know a SAMS login page is fake?

Check that the address is samsodisha.gov.in or one of its course sub-addresses. Be careful with links from WhatsApp, SMS or social media. Any page that asks for a fee to log in, or a caller who asks for your OTP, is a warning sign. Close it and type the official address yourself.
